The Slew & My New Earplugs

I am going to start off by saying that the venue change last minute at first pissed me off, but when I got to the Red Room it made sense. What would you rather have, not that many in a large venue or a packed small venue.....

The Slew blew the minds of all that was attendance, it was a mixed crowd of rockers and party kids. At first the people where not sure whether to dance or mosh and all it took was one young cute punk rock girl to bowl into the crowd to get everyone mosh/dancing. With the Dj/Rock combo they even did an encore at the end. My only complaint would be that the set was only an hour long but an hour of extreme rock dancing.

I tested out my new earplugs which let me hear the show perfectly and I could still hear my friend talking beside me, they even come in a cool carrying case! (Oh and I have the Purple ones)

New Chromeo

I remember seeing Chromeo five years ago in Vancouver in the now closed down Brickyard. I think there was maybe 80 people there and one the best shows I have ever seen. Take me to last year there was about 1000 people in the Commodore, still a great show and amazing to see how many people have noticed them. There new single is on fire and their new album out soon is filled with disco heat.

A huge big up to the boys of Grand Analog for winning the Western Canadian Hip Hop Recording of the Year. Maybe next year a Canadian television station could broadcast it so that people could watch.

Dizzee Rascal & Tiesto I still Can't Belive It's Good

Dizzee Rascal 's new album Tongue in Cheek is out and there is more guest appearances than a Sasha Grey film. There is one match up that I was not sure how it would work out and that was with Tiesto. But after listening to it either I was wrong about Trance and Tiesto or maybe Tiesto just needs to stop making Trance, I am going with the later. Go and pick up the album because it is one of the best I have heard in a minute. (Buy Album Here)

RIP Roc Raida

A statement released by Raida's family over the weekend reads: "Anthony Williams [professionally known] to the world as the Legendary Grand Master Roc Raida has passed away unexpectedly today, September 19, 2009. He is survived by his wife, three lovely daughters, mother and friends. Raida was recently in a mixed-martial-arts accident, something that he has been practicing for several years. Although he had undergone two surgeries with great success, was released to an inpatient physical therapy facility and was in great spirits the past few days, this morning he started to have complications and passed. The family asks for privacy at this time."

Busta Rhymes wrote a series of messages about Raida on his Twitter Page.

K J Sawka Live Drum & Bass Drums - Sample Pack Demo by loopmasters


Went to see KJ Sawka at the Woods on Friday and I was blown away by his live drumming of jungle and drum n bass. I have seen this attempted before but never successfully, I stood right beside the drum kit just to see the spectacle for myself. Note to self - make sure you have earplugs when standing beside a drum kit.
