A press release sent out on wednesday stated that the genre bending singer Santogold has changed her middle letter of her name, thus becoming Santigold.
The explanation from her camp: “She’s not telling you why, that’s just how it is. No unpronounceable symbol, no numbers where they shouldn’t be … just plain … Santigold.”
There are other reports of her getting sued by another musician named Santo Gold etc., so she changed it and we really think its sad knowing she was on every other top ten list of 08′ and all the marketing of her as Santogold has been diluted.
But whatever her moniker she has, we will always support music as good as hers.
With Slumdog Millionaire cleaning up at the Oscars last night I thought I would drop this little banger from the soundtrack. The only thing I thought was bad about the Oscars was that Mickey rourke didn't win for best actor. Even though he deserved it and Spicoli did win for his horrible rendidtion of Harvey Milk. But we can all wish what ol Mickey would have said in his speech, hope you enjoy the track.
